The cloud market has become very congested with infrastructures that all bring about different services. Due to the fact, each cloud is built to support a niche in the services market the analytics provided in the dashboards are often built to show the value of the cloud providers services around their solution. In the beginning consumers are very pleased with their new cloud and its ease of use. But over time these customers need the ability to cross reference and arrogate analytics across multiple clouds some software focused, some platform and some infrastructure. This is where adoption gets sloppy and starts to erode in its effectiveness. This is the point where a cloud consumer begins to try and integrated via API’s, again they find dissimilarity and are faced with a slew of operation process changes some manual and others that can be automated.  Suddenly these consumers are faced with having to make sacrifices on the tooling and spend time on how to measure performance, forensic diagnostics, security and access.  The Cloud was intended to provide advantages and ease of use not dissimilarities.

So how do you start?

You must start with a cloud focused on providing you with integration points that you can control and access from a data perspective not just a portal with a graph.  Much like binding physical elements together we need to ensure that the fibers or atomic weights of our solution will bind and not cause negative reactions. Audits should regulate any action and all audits require a specific report and validation. The ability to validate and quickly report for an audit is critical and if you do not have access to the data points you need then failure is guaranteed.  Like any good start once momentum has been created the next step is about removing resistance to become more efficient. So be efficient start with the mindset that you will have a hybrid solution and that your cloud providers should can extend or arrogate your data. Look for cookbooks or guides with process points that you can collect via analytics so that reporting can point to  the key performance indicator of the roadmap or guide. Look to bring your intelligent business model into your planning on using your cloud analytics and transforming into “BI” Business Intelligence. Make sure that your IT department is enabled and that business demand is answered by the analytics that do not hamper you IT Department.
