When a global giant like GE makes plans to migrate 9,000 applications to Public IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), tens of thousands of apps, hundreds of thousands of servers and petabytes of storage and networks in hundreds of countries around the world, that's a move the entire market will benefit from.

Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of GE, Chris Drumgoole, says it's been a complicated process with many bumps along the way.  And, there's more that vendors, regulators and members of the open source community could do to help ease this process for others.
