JoAnn Ackerman

VP of Finance – CPA, MBA, MS, CGMA

Ms. Ackerman is former Senior Auditor with Ernst & Young in Hackensack, NJ. During her 25-year career she has held positions within the publishing division of Silver Burdett & Ginn (subsidiary of Viacom) and a multi-national petrochemical company where she traveled to Australia as a lead team member for a global software implementation.

As a Senior Finance Manager for Avaya, she created a new team whose mission was to ensure the integrity of the company’s reported revenues.  She also Identified qualified resources within the company to recruit and developed team roles and responsibilities based on employee skill sets, while Ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act specifically related to the Revenue Cycle.  She also Supported continuous process and control improvements.  Ms. Ackerman was responsible for Identifying business-critical issues of policies in partnership with the Accounting Policy group responsible for ensuring corporate GAAP compliance.

Ms. Ackerman is currently an adjunct professor for Undergraduate and Graduate accounting courses at Nova Southeast University in Davie, FL where she teaches Accounting for Decision Makers, a core MBA course in managerial accounting focused on developing skills needed in business for students with all concentrations within an MBA program

Ms. Ackerman resides locally with her two children and enjoys hot yoga, spinning, reading and traveling.

Mark Amarant

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

An industry veteran of over 25 years, Mr. Amarant has been involved in all areas of communications, having founded, operated, and sold several successful companies. From 1994 to 2011, he served as Founder and Chief Executive Officer of STS Telecom, a Florida-based VoIP provider.

At STS Mark developed industry innovations in customer service, billing, credit, collections, sales, and marketing. STS operated under licenses from the FCC and the Florida Public Service Commission. Mr. Amarant achieved high growth in STS’s core cloud infrastructure and leveraging relationships with its Value Added Resellers (VAR), who successfully sold STS’s services to commercial businesses. In over a decade as CEO, Mr. Amarant paid out approximately $4 million per year in on-time commission payments and sales bonuses to STS’s Value Added Reseller (VAR) partners.

In March of 2011, STS Telecom was purchased by EarthLink (Nasdaq: ELNK). Prior to the EarthLink purchase, STS was named to the list of Top 50 Agent Programs of 2011 by PHONE+ magazine. By 2011, STS had become one of the largest Interconnect companies in Florida.


Mike Leonard

Chief Information Security Officer

Mr. Leonard leads WHOA’s Cyber Security Practice, leveraging his vast Corporate IT experience to provide expert guidance for customers & partners to identify, plan, and implement their Cybersecurity and Compliance needs. Mr. Leonard has over twenty-five (25) years of experience in Corporate IT, in the areas of Cyber Security, Infrastructure, Data Center Operations, and Support. He has guided the technology efforts for corporations in several different industries, such as e-commerce, retail, financial services, and healthcare. He has extensive experience with regulatory compliance, including PCI, Sarbanes-Oxley, FINRA, HIPAA and HITECH.

Mr. Leonard previously was the IT Director and CISO for a publicly held financial services company, where he guided the company’s Cyber Security and Compliance efforts. He was also the Director of Infrastructure and Support for a publicly held healthcare company. He earlier held the position of Director of Enterprise Infrastructure and Operations for a large publicly held retail and e-commerce company, as well as support and infrastructure positions with a privately held catalog and e-commerce company.

Mr. Leonard is also a member of The Florida Bar, having worked as an Associate Attorney with a multi-state law firm which had a large data breach defense practice.

Mr. Leonard holds several advanced degrees, having earned a B.S. in Management Information Systems, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Juris Doctor (JD).


Steven Roth


Mr. Roth is responsible for oversight of revenue generation across all companies and lines of business and will work closely with the leadership team developing multiple revenue strategies that leverage all products and services within our portfolio. Mr. Roth brings more than three decades of senior sales and senior sales management expertise, including Technical Staffing, IT Projects, Cloud, Cyber Security, Data Center Operations and Monitoring.

Mr. Roth previously lead U.S. Digital Sales for Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) providing business with Cyber Security, Data Center Monitoring and Application Development software tools. Prior to joining HPE, Mr. Roth spent several years with Dell where he was responsible for building and driving global sales for Dell’s Cloud practice including Private, Public and Hybrid Cloud solutions. The Dell Cloud practice under Mr. Roth’s leadership developed a partner ecosystem including partnerships with MS Azure, AWS, Centurylink and Google cloud. Under Mr. Roth’s leadership the Dell Cloud grew to a team over 100 dedicated cloud employees generating over $200M in cloud services revenue by the time of his departure.

Mr. Roth worked closely with teams across all Dell’s verticals and served as Dell’s cloud evangelist training thousands of internal employees and speaking around the world on Dell’s cloud point of view. Mr. Roth also worked as a sales leader for Taleo Business Edition, Resource Technologies and The Chubb Institute. Mr. Roth has a B.S. in Business Management
